Written for Understanding and Application

This is an excellent text book that presents statistical ideas in clear, everyday language. It was useful to me when I was a student, and I still refer back to it. It is also the first book I show to non-statisticians when they want to understand basic statistical techniques.
It is an excellent introduction to many statistical techniques, including DOE. In addition to the statistical information, the writing style is well worth emulating. My office has even used the sample report in the book as the format for documents that we write.

DoE made easy (to understand)

I had Tom as an instructor and will be up front about my biasedness. This book is really easy to read. You don't need a PhD to understand this book. I've performed a lot of DoEs since I've graduated over 10 years ago and I still pick up this book. I really like to use it when I'm supposed to explain DoE concepts to non-stats folks. Tom always emphasized being able to communicate effectively to non-stats folks. He does an excellent job himself. You will enjoy this book. If you are taking a class and have a different book, this would be a great companion book to help all the concepts that seem nebulas in the other books. It is a great place to start and learn DoE.
